I have had some busy good weeks behind me and today I have finally time to do some “office-work”.Time is moving so fast and suddenly we are in the middle of the summer.
I had a conversation with a dear brother some days ago and he asked me some tricky question…like: why are so many Christians in financial problem? That is not an easy question to answer. The easiest and most common would be…because they don’t give enough…well the people he talked about they give…pay tithe..give regularly to various projects in church. Still something seems to be missing. I was reading yesterday from Matthew 6: 1 “Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2 So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honoured by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.

3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you”

Jesus was talking about “giving in secret”. I believe that there is a key to financial success in those verses.
When you do things for God in the “secret” it means that your heart and mind is involved. You determine from your heart before God that you will give a certain amount. God see those things that are made in the secret. Sometimes when people talk about “their giving” it sounds a bit like boasting…God is against that. It is also important to “forget” what you give. “Do not let your right hand know what your left is doing”…Give by faith from your heart.
Also give to what you believe in. If you constantly give and plant seed(money) in to things that you really do not believe in..than I doubt that God will be able to bless you.
Last I believe that your giving is your responsibility before God.We are not to “check” others about their giving. If you are a Pastor in a local church and the finances is down…do not “check” the amount each member give…that is none of your business. Teach Biblical giving and believe that God will lead each member to give by faith..don’t manipulate!
Have a blessed Summer!!
